The Skeptic’s Inspirational

a daily catalyst for the curious mind

Courage calls for self-awareness.

When we shy away from bravery, it's tempting to rationalize our inaction with excuses. We tell ourselves it's not the right time, that it doesn't matter, that someone else could handle it better. But in most cases, what lies beneath those defenses is fear---fear of failure, judgment, or consequences.

Courage calls for self-awareness. Excuses are Fear's favorite disguise. Courage sees through them. It means noticing when fear is hiding behind logic and then pushing through anyway. By calling out these justifications for what they are, you disarm fear and give yourself the chance to act boldly.

Think about a decision or action you've delayed recently. Were excuses involved?
